Textile, Gram, Pulses, Coal, Iron and Steel materials, Salt, Sugar, K.Oil and Petrol are imported. Bamboo, Firewood, Timber, Kendu Leaf, Paddy, Rice and Aluminium products etc. are exported from the district.Some of the important trains passing through Sambalpur town are Sambalpur-Nizanuddin exp.,Bokaro Allappy exp.,Tapaswini exp ,Samaleswari exp etc. .
